Matsui Pearl Shop has stood on Kashikojima in Shima since the 38th year of Meiji. It works with keshi pearls, natural pearls so small that setting them takes skilled handwork and long hours, which is why the material is hardly worked at all today. Craftsmen recreate Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs by hand and make new pieces as well, and the shop's own work can be seen only at Kashikojima.
