It carries household goods and ceramics from countries around the Mediterranean, including Italian pieces, Spanish pottery and less common items from Tunisia. Terracotta roosters, each made by hand in Barcelos in northern Portugal, are known as charms for divine protection and good fortune, and the Spanish ceramics are marked by vivid colour and intricate decoration.
