About this place
On a low hill about 800 m from Izawa-no-miya along the Gyoko road. Unusually among the shrines of Jingu it faces east, so at each rebuilding the sanctuary shifts north or south rather than sideways. The deity is Otoshi-no-Kami; from the tale of the crane that dropped an ear of rice here, locals call it Hootoshi-san and still come to pray for the harvest. Four small sanctuaries of Saminaga-Mimae-jinja stand to the left.
