About this place
Henbaya Shouten Main Store is the original shop behind henba mochi, in Akeno in Ise. Alongside henba mochi it sells sawa mochi, kuro mochi, sekihan red-bean rice, kombu tsukudani and Ise tea. The building keeps the look of the early Meiji era and displays a Sanbo Kojin altar said to date from the shop's founding, and there is seating inside for eating on the spot.
