Silver Week traffic restrictions
From September 19 to 23 the Ise-Nishi interchange exit on the Ise Expressway is closed, and from the 20th to the 22nd the Ise interchange exit is closed as well. From the 20th to the 22nd a shuttle bus runs from the car parks around Sun Arena. You cannot drive up to Naiku, so please plan your route around it.

About this place

First in rank among the auxiliary shrines of Naiku, reached by descending the stone steps north of the main sanctuary. It enshrines the aramitama of Amaterasu-Omikami — the deity's vigorous, outwardly acting aspect. At each rebuilding it is the first auxiliary shrine to be renewed; in the 62nd cycle this took place on 10 October 2013, right after Naiku itself.
