About this place

A five-minute walk along the approach from Ise-shi station. It enshrines Toyouke-no-Omikami, guardian of food, clothing, shelter and industry, said to have been brought here from the province of Tanba to provide the meals of Amaterasu. Rites at Jingu begin at Geku, and custom is to visit Geku before Naiku. Unlike at Naiku the paths are walked on the left, and an old camphor tree stands here said to have brushed the cap of Taira no Kiyomori.
