About this place

At the entrance to the rear approach of Tsukiyomi-no-miya, with a large camphor tree beside the building. The name recalls the reed beds that once covered this ground. All three deities here guard the fields and the harvest. Shrines listed in the tenth-century register are normally ranked as sessha; this one alone is ranked as a massha, an unusual arrangement.
