About this place

Within the grounds of Funae-Kamino-yashiro. The deity is Sawahime-no-Mikoto, who guards the water. Unusually for a sessha of Jingu, this shrine has an offertory box. When it was re-established in the Edo period it was built inside Hinojiri-sha, though doubts about that identification were raised at the time; in 1878 it was moved to its present site, the riverside location being judged at risk of flooding.
