The estate that makes the salt used in the rites. In late July water from the Isuzu river is let into the salt field and left to the sun; in August it is boiled over sacred fire into coarse salt; in October and March it is packed into conical earthenware and baked hard. The salt for Geku as well as Naiku comes from here. The drawing house, the burning house and the storehouse stand together in the grounds.
