Silver Week traffic restrictions
From September 19 to 23 the Ise-Nishi interchange exit on the Ise Expressway is closed, and from the 20th to the 22nd the Ise interchange exit is closed as well. From the 20th to the 22nd a shuttle bus runs from the car parks around Sun Arena. You cannot drive up to Naiku, so please plan your route around it.

About this place

Inside the precincts of Naiku, beside the guard post east of the Uji Bridge, standing alongside Koyasu-jinja — Koyasu in front, this shrine behind it. The deity guards the mountains, and the shrine was once called Yama-no-Yashiro. Yamaguchi-sai, the first rite in the cycle of the periodic rebuilding, is said to have been held here. A water basin cut in the shape of a flower stands before it.
