On the left bank of the Tokida river, known locally as Haiko-san — a worn-down form of the name of its deity, Hayakawahiko. Two river deities and a guardian of the land are enshrined here; tradition holds the shrine began when Princess Yamatohime crossed the river and was offered rice land as the country of Sata with its broad ridges. It lies about 500 m north-east of Tamaru Station, and camellias bloom in the grounds in spring.
