Silver Week traffic restrictions
From September 19 to 23 the Ise-Nishi interchange exit on the Ise Expressway is closed, and from the 20th to the 22nd the Ise interchange exit is closed as well. From the 20th to the 22nd a shuttle bus runs from the car parks around Sun Arena. You cannot drive up to Naiku, so please plan your route around it.

About this place

Some 40 km from Naiku, at Takihara in Taiki, this and Izawa-no-miya are known as the tono-miya, the “distant shrines” of Amaterasu. Tradition holds that Princess Yamatohime chose the site while searching for a place to enshrine the deity. A large forest surrounds it, beside the Ouchiyama river. Takiharanarabi-no-miya stands immediately alongside.
