About this place
The deities here guard farming households; a single sanctuary stands in a stand of trees amid the rice fields. Tanoe-Mimae-jinja, sixth in rank, shares that same hall — when the shrine was restored in the Edo period the Mimae hall was not rebuilt, and the two have shared one hall ever since. Several burial mounds lie in the grounds, along with a stone forbidding the taking of life, set up by the Kishu domain in 1724. The entrance is easy to miss.
