About this place

In a fold of the forest belonging to Geku, enclosed by trees so tall that the grounds stay dim even at midday. It does not connect to the main precinct path; the approach opens up only after following the edge of the Geku woods. The deities are those of the land of Watarai. When the rites of nearly every sessha and matsusha lapsed in the medieval period, this shrine is thought to have kept both its rites and its site unbroken.
