About this place

At the edge of the Yuta settlement in Obata, surrounded by rice paddies. The place name Yuta comes from yuta, a field dedicated to the deities, and the land here is thought to have belonged to Jingu. The deities enshrined are those of local farming. The sanctuary is built somewhat larger than at other sessha, and residents still gather to worship here on 12 December in a rite called sessha-himachi.
