About this place
On the summit of Mt. Koidoguchi, up some 280 stone steps. Reckoned the second hardest of the 125 shrines to reach, after Kamo-jinja, though the sound of the sea carries up into the grounds. The name Komori echoes the word for watching over a child, and people have long come here to pray for children and safe childbirth. It shares a single building with Kozaki-jinja.
