Silver Week traffic restrictions
From September 19 to 23 the Ise-Nishi interchange exit on the Ise Expressway is closed, and from the 20th to the 22nd the Ise interchange exit is closed as well. From the 20th to the 22nd a shuttle bus runs from the car parks around Sun Arena. You cannot drive up to Naiku, so please plan your route around it.

About this place

It stands in the grounds of Kami-no-Yashiro, the local tutelary shrine, sharing a fence with Shitomi-jinja. It enshrines a guardian of the embankments that protect the district from the floods of the Miyagawa. Of the 125 shrines, only this one, Shitomi-jinja and Uchikake-jinja ever held court rank, raised from the upper fifth to the lower fourth grade in 1128.
