About this place

It stands on the same site as Shitomi-jinja and Okochi-jinja. The kake in its name refers to the ears of rice offered to the deity, who governs both the harvest and the embankments that hold back the floods of the Miyagawa. Of the 125 shrines, only these three ever held court rank. After falling into ruin during the wars of the sixteenth century it was kept up as a subsidiary of the local tutelary shrine.
